My Loving Companion

Chickster (Chickie-Sue)

Picture
My other indoor cat (Boo is the only other one) I rescued this tortie kitten at 3 weeks old from a co-worker's El-Camino in the parking lot of our job. He drove all the way to work with her in his engine. Thankfully she was not injured. I unfortunately played with her too much as I had to bring her to work with me to feed her constantly, so now she likes to play rough and doesn't like to be held for too long. She has her tender moments and as much as Boo and Chickster won't admit it, they worry about each other. She's my little princess and nearly 2 years old now, I believe. Is NOT allowed outside because she refuses to wear a harness.

Abra la Boca ("Open Mouth")

Picture
"Boca" is named for his meows, and keeps his mouth open a great deal for no apparent reason. He wandered up in mid June 2010 and is an unneutered male. We unfortunately had a lady in the neighborhood who had an exasperating number of cats and kittens running around, and she has since moved. Word is getting around that I feed these cats apparently, because this is the newest addition to my outside brood. He is unusually large for cats in this area (That I've seen) and is very friendly, but does not like to be picked up. He likes to lick your feet and walk between them. He hasn't knocked us down. Yet.

Bobbie-Jo

Picture
Bobbie-Jo, female, named for her bobbed tail. I believe she is spayed but who knows? She came with Mississippi, after Rocky and before Boca, and they are very skittish of me and will not get near me nor the food I give until I am a safe distance away. They bump heads constantly, and Bobbie-Jo is the dominant of the two.

Rocky Balboa

Picture
Rocky was the first stray to wander up in a long time, in these long lines on this page. He is fairly friendly though I try not to pet any of these cats since Boo is unwell. He now has competition from Boca, and is ticked at me for letting Boca on the property, apparently. Named as such for irony. If he knows he can't win a fight, he will lay down and be submissive.

Mississippi

Picture
Mississippi, named for the crooked end of her tail. May have been broken in the past (M-I-Crooked letter, crooked letter, etc etc) ... very skittish as Bobbie-Jo and lets herself get smacked every so often for hogging the food bowl. Will run if I make the least sudden noise.
